About IBT
Founded in 1995, Immune Balance Technologies (IBT)
develops technologies to modulate the human
immune system, to treat disease, preserve
wellness and reverse the aging process. The
company’s platform to achieve its objective
applies to all viral diseases, cancer,
autoimmune disease, allergies, wellness and
aging.
Over the last twenty years one of the company’s
founders, Dr. Robert H. Keller, has been
involved in scientific research in both
Immunology and Hematology. Dr. Keller also
treats patients with immune dysfunction through
his medical practice The KBK Institute, a state
of the art medical clinic for the cutting edge
treatment of patients afflicted with chronic
illnesses including HIV, Hemophilia, Hepatitis,
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Autoimmune diseases,
pre and post Cancer care, chronic
neurogenerative diseases and aging – which we
view as a disease.
Research efforts at IBT can be divided into four
separate, but overlapping areas:
The first deals with HIV and stems from the fact
that tens of millions of patients worldwide have
been infected, yet only a small percentage can
afford the currently effective HAART therapy.
IBT developed a novel, immuno-theraputic which
is impervious to viral mutation. This technology
has been transferred to Phoenix BioSciences,
Inc., a subsidiary of IBT, and has the potential
to become the standard of care in HIV worldwide.
Another area deals with Hepatitis C which
affects approximately 200-250 million people
worldwide. Since both HIV and Hepatitis C are
RNA retroviruses and show similar viral
kinetics, we have also begun studies to
determine if an immuno-theraputic agent could
function to thwart HCV as we have shown for HIV.
One significant difficulty in this regard was
the lack of an invitro culture system to
adequately evaluate potential anti-HCV
therapeutic agents.
To that end, IBT’s first goal has been to
develop such an invitro system. Proof of concept
studies have been completed and such an invitro
culture system has been initiated. In addition,
studies are ongoing using another immunodulatory
agent, which may treat Alzheimer’s and
Parkinson’s.
Further research efforts at IBT lead to the
development of a complex Glutathione supplement
– the most powerful, prevalent antioxidant in
the human body. After successfully developing a
novel diagnostic test to measure glutathione and
confirming decreased glutathione levels in the
majority of his patients, Dr. Keller developed
and patented a nutritional supplement designed
specifically to produce and preserve existing
stores of glutathione. More nutritional
developments have occurred due to other issues
Dr. Keller has identified in his patients, and
as a result, VitImmune, a nutraceutical company
with a line of products geared towards enhancing
the immune system and slowing the biological
clock, was formed in 1997. These products are
designed to address problems in patients
suffering from a variety of Immune and
degenerative diseases and protect the health and
youth of those not yet afflicted by illness and
who live in an increasingly polluted environment
and are under constant stress. Unlike other
nutritional companies, all of VitImmune’s
products undergo extensive clinical testing
before being offered to the patients and the
public. VitImmune represents Dr. Keller’s belief
in maintaining wellness as well as treating
illness.
