Keller MD MS FACP AAHIVs
Dr.
Keller had a distinguished academic career after
achieving MD with Honors, and being elected to
AOA at Temple University, and training in
Internal Medicine, Immunology and Hematology at
the University of Rochester and the Mayo Clinic.
During a fellowship and subsequent Assistant
Professorship at the Mayo Graduate School of
Medicine, he introduced a new laboratory
technology to identify cells at the Mayo Clinic.
Moving to Milwaukee, he became a faculty member
in the Departments of Medicine, Pediatrics,
Biophysics and Health Science at the Medical
College of Wisconsin (Marquette University) and
the University of Wisconsin, where he rose to
level of Professor. He was also awarded two
Career Development Awards (Clinical
Investigatorships) and the Superior Performance
Award (for research) by the Veteran’s
Administration where he served as a Staff
Physician. He also served as Immunologist in
Chief at Milwaukee children’s hospital and
Director of Immunology for their bone marrow
transplant unit. Subsequently he served as
Director of the Marcus Center for Immunology
Research. During his academic tenure, he was
awarded over 2 million dollars in research
grants from both the NIH and VA; served on the
scientific review panels for the NIH and VA;
published over 100 original articles, invited
reviews and book chapters in Immunology,
Hematology and Medicine; was awarded two
patents; was a visiting professor at both US and
international medical institutions and served
numerous industrial and academic consultantships
including NASA during the Apollo Program. After
Wisconsin, he served as director of Immunology
for Coulter Electronics, a Florida based
company.
Dr. Keller has been named as one of the 2000
Outstanding Scientists of the 21st Century,
elected to the Board of Governors of the
American Academy of HIV Medicine of the State of
Florida and serves on the National Practice
Committee. He has also been named as one of the
Top Physicians in 2003, 2004, and 2005 by the
Consumers’ Research Council of America in the
fields of Internal Medicine, Immunology and
Hematology and is featured in the: “Guide to
America’s Top Physicians”. His main interest is
improving the quality of life in patients
afflicted with HIV and decreasing the side
effects associated with HAART.
In 1994, he founded The BIODORON Institute of
Advanced Medicine (now The KBK Institute), a
state of the art medical clinic for the cutting
edge treatment of patients afflicted with
chronic illnesses including HIV, Hemophilia, and
Hepatitis.
In 1995 he founded Immune Balance Technologies (IBT),
a private biotech LLC to develop novel
therapeutic and diagnostic products for patients
whose immune systems were damaged by disease,
stress and/or nutritional deficiencies. IBT has
already completed proof of concept studies for
one unique low cost drug for the treatment of
HIV and as a result Dr. Keller founded Phoenix
Biosciences, Inc whose lead compound – PBS 119.
IBT has also developed a novel diagnostic test
to measure glutathione, the body’s major
antioxidant and been granted 3 patents. In
addition, he founded VitImmune, a nutraceutical
company which develops unique nutritional
products to address both problems in patients
suffering from a variety of Immune and
degenerative diseases and protect the health and
youth of those not yet afflicted by illness.
Dr. Keller continues his involvement with
patient groups by lecturing frequently and
serving on the Scientific Advisory Board of the
National Hemophilia Federation and was recently
awarded the Physician of the year honor from the
PWAC coalition of Broward County and the
Humanitarian award by the National Hemophilia
Federation. He serves as a voluntary Professor
at the Miller School of Medicine at the
University of Miami. Dr. Keller also hosts a
national web-based radio show called “The Path
to Wellness and Youth” every Tuesday beginning
July 19. He also lectures frequently to HIV,
Hemophilia, CFIDS and Cancer support groups.
